Chiropractic and Private Health Funds

Chiropractic treatment attracts rebates from health funds depending on your level of cover. (Ancillary Tables Only.)

Medicare and Chiropractic

The general Medicare scheme does not provide a rebate on Chiropractic treatment.

However you may be eligible for up to 5 Medicare visits under the Enhanced Primary Care Plan.

X-Rays may be bulk billed under Medicare.

Phone the clinic on 9890-1740 for more details.

Workcover / Comcare

If you have suffered a work related injury and are covered under the Workcover or Comcare Scheme then you do not need a referral to see a chiropractor.

However, you must have received your initial Workcover certificate or Comcare certificate from a medical practitioner.

Workcover requirements vary in each state.

Transport Accident Commission

If you have been injured in a motor vehicle accident then you are eligible to have chiropractic treatment.

You do not need any medical referral. The TAC applies an excess to all claims unless you have spent at least one night in hospital as a result of the accident.

Department of Veterans Affairs

Referrals for Chiropractic treatment are needed for those patients whose treatment is covered by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The D904 referral can be obtained by request from your General Practitioner.

Note : It is contrary to current legislation for a GP to refuse such a request.
